Time for Truth Campaign March

Time for Truth Protest Against Britain’s Bill of Shame

Walk with us on Sunday 11th September in Belfast against Britain’s Bill of Shame.

On Sunday 11 September, the Time for Truth Campaign is hosting a mass rally at Belfast City Hall. Victims and survivors of the conflict are gathering to express their outright opposition to the British Government’s Legacy Bill – Britain’s pernicious Bill of Shame.

This Bill of Shame will provide an amnesty for British state forces and deny families – many of whom have been campaigning for decades – their basic legal right to an inquest, an independent investigation, and their right to pursue civil actions.

The Bill prioritizes the demands of the British military lobby over the legal rights of victims of state violence.

ATTACK ON HUMAN RIGHTS

Ciarán MacAirt, spokesperson for the Time for Truth Campaign said:

“Our basic human rights are under attack. Britain’s Bill of Shame is a vile attempt by a human rights abuser to bury its war crimes and protect its killers. The British government is assaulting our equal access to due process of the law and shutting down every legal avenue ordinary families have to truth and justice. We must act now.”

“You can play your part too. Join the families at 12pm on Sunday 11th September and Walk With Us to the City Hall. Register your disgust against Britain’s Bill of Shame and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us in defence of all our basic human rights.”
